Happy. Healthy. Safe.
Three words we have used for 18+ years to settle every hard call in a long-lived-in home — across 3,000+ of them, more than any team in the region. If a plan does not leave the person happier, healthier, and safer than we found them, it is the wrong plan — no matter how efficient it looks on paper.
Why this firm exists.
We did not set out to build a company. We set out to help one family, our own. Then we could not stop noticing how badly this work was being done everywhere else.
We were the family without a plan. My husband's mother passed unexpectedly. He was on active-duty Army orders and a deployment clock. A vulnerable nephew was living with her under guardianship. Nothing had been planned: not the funeral, not the accounts, not the passwords, not the paperwork, not the house. It was a small town with limited resources.
We were juggling a lawyer, a realtor, a financial planner, a mover, and a cleanout crew, and none of them talked to each other. Every decision was being made by a family already carrying grief and a timeline set by the Army.
That is when we understood what was missing. It was not another vendor. It was a coordinator: one trusted hand to hold the plan, manage the moving parts, and protect the dignity of the person at the center of it.
So we built A Call to Order, so no other family has to figure it out alone. We chose the word coordination on purpose. What families need is more than organizing. They need leadership through a major life transition.
For more than 18+ years, we have brought order and calm to over 3,000+ long-lived-in homes across Southern Colorado, and no two have been alike. When you work with us, you get a structured process, credentialed expertise, and a team that cares deeply about the dignity of the person in transition.
One more thing, said plainly: we will not trade the harder right for the easier wrong. If a timeline can not be met, or a family is about to make a decision they will regret, you will hear it from us before the invoice, not after.

One Named Coordinator. Zero Vendor Chaos.
You don't need seven phone numbers or a weekend spreadsheet. We plan the work, manage the trades, and protect the person whose home it is every step of the way.

Every item leaving the home goes through four gates, in order.
The order is the whole point: it is what stands between a family and the sentence "we just had someone come take it all."
Gift
Family first, always. We document what was offered to whom and what was accepted, so nobody is left wondering later whether they were asked.
Sell
Where there is genuine value, we route it to the right channel — consignment, auction, specialist buyer, or estate sale. Realistic numbers, given up front. Most of what families believe is valuable is not, and most of what is valuable they did not expect.
Donate
To organizations we have actual relationships with, matched to what the item is. Receipts documented for the estate or for taxes.
Responsibly Dispose
Last, and smaller than you fear. Recycling, e-waste handling, hazardous materials, and document destruction — done properly, not tipped into one container because it is Friday.
Nothing skips a gate. Nothing leaves without being routed.
What you can expect from us.
One coordinator, start to finish. A response within one business day. A written scope before any work begins. Every trade, hauler, and buyer managed by us and answerable to us. Every credential this profession offers. And a straight answer when you ask a hard question — including the answer that we are not the right fit, which you will hear from the most experienced team in the business.
What the letters actually mean.
Most families have never heard of these. Here is what each one required and what it means for your project.

Certified Professional Organizer
Board of Certification for Professional Organizers
The foundational certification of the organizing profession, awarded by the Board of Certification for Professional Organizers (NAPO's certifying body). It requires documented experience hours and a rigorous examination. For the client, it means your coordinator has met a measurable standard of competence and ethics — not simply hung a shingle.

Certified Senior Move Coordination
Senior Move Manager Certified (SMM~C)
A credential focused specifically on the planning, logistics, and emotional dimensions of moving older adults. It means your coordinator is trained in the unique sensitivities of a senior move — the floor plan, the downsize decisions, the disposition, and the unpack — not just the boxes.
Executive Certification in Home Modification
UC Davis Continuing Education
Issued through UC Davis. It covers home-modification expertise together with the systematic clearing, inventory, and disposition of a household's contents — the documented, defensible process an executor or court can rely on.

Certified Professional After Loss Services
Professionals of After Loss Services (PALS)
A grief-sensitive certification for professionals working with families after a death. It means your coordinator is trained to do this work with the steadiness and judgment the moment demands — not as a cleanout crew.

Hoarding Specialist
Institute for Challenging Disorganization — Subscriber Since 2008
Awarded by the Institute for Challenging Disorganization. It prepares coordinators to work safely and respectfully with chronic disorganization and hoarding situations — at the person's pace, with judgment, never with shame.

National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals
Golden Circle 10+ Years & Active Member
Member and Golden Circle recognized (10+ years). NAPO sets the professional and ethical standards this industry runs on, including the confidentiality standard we hold ourselves to in every home.

How we work when nobody is watching.
We do not throw anything away without asking.
Even when it would be faster. Even when it is obviously trash. The one time we guess wrong is the one thing that mattered.
We work at the pace of the person, not the calendar.
A closing date is a real constraint. So is an eighty-nine-year-old who needs to sit down. We plan around both.
We say the hard thing early.
If a timeline is not achievable, or a family is about to make a decision they will regret, you hear it from us before the invoice, not after.
What is discussed in the home stays in the home.
We see financial documents, medical paperwork, and family history. None of it leaves. Ever.
You will not be handed off to a stranger.
Every project is run by one of our internal departments — a coordinator who knows your family, your timeline, and what your mother said about the china. No rotating casts. No subcontracted strangers.
Move Coordination
Holds the planning, logistics, and emotional dimensions of moving an older adult out of a long-lived-in home — floor plan through the first night, with the bed made and the coffee maker where she can reach it.
Estate Clearing & After-Loss
Handles the inventory, distribution, and documented disposition of a household after a death or a sudden move — the work that keeps siblings talking to each other next Thanksgiving.
Home Organization
Designs and installs storage and retrieval systems built around how a household actually lives — a structure the household can maintain without professional help afterward.
Operations & Vendor Management
Runs the operational backbone of every project — scheduling, documentation, and the vetted vendor network that keeps a timeline honest and nothing falling through the cracks.
Employees, not contractors
Every person who enters your home is a background-checked, insured, and bonded employee of A Call to Order.
Vendors held to one standard
Third-party vendors — movers, auctioneers, haulers, trades — are vetted by us personally before they ever step inside.
If we wouldn't, they don't
If we would not have them in our own house, they are not coming to yours. That is the whole standard.
Every person who enters your home is a background-checked, insured, and bonded employee of A Call to Order. Third-party vendors — movers, auctioneers, haulers, trades — are vetted by us against a single standard: if we would not have them in our own house, they are not coming to yours.

A Call to Order is the most experienced senior move coordination, home organization, and estate clearing firm in Southern Colorado, serving families throughout the Front Range and across the State of Colorado since 2008, with nationwide virtual planning available for special circumstances. Over 18 years the company has coordinated more than 3,000 long-lived-in homes — more than any team in the region. It is led by Gina Caughey, a Certified Professional Organizer (CPO) who also holds the cSMM, ECHM, cPALS, and ICD credentials and is a Golden Circle member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO). A Call to Order coordinates phased moves to smaller homes and senior communities, whole-home organization, estate clearing, and estate sales, using its trademarked E.P.I.C.™ method and Disposition Pathway to route contents to gift, sale, donation, or responsible disposal. Its flagship engagement, TLC – Transition, Legacy & Care, wraps every service into one accountable engagement for the full arc of a transition or estate settlement. Services are available across Southern Colorado, the Front Range, and the broader State of Colorado, with remote coordination for family members living out of state.
If a plan does not leave the person happier, healthier, and safer — it is the wrong plan.
It is the standard 18+ years and 3,000+ homes have earned us — and the standard no one else in this business can match.
